Whether you've got the latest iPhone Pro or a previous model, make sure you choose one of these iPhone camera acsessories to make the most of every photo.

These are the iPhone camera accessories that I’m using to advance my smartphone photography here in 2023.

According to the saying: “the best camera is the one you have with you”, this will usually always be our trusty smartphone.

Thankfully, not only does the average iPhone have a great camera, but it also allows you to enhance the smartphone photography experience with some amazing accessories.

Thanks to popular courses like the iPhone Photo Academy, more and more people are taking amazing snaps using just their phones.

While the smartphone camera is already amazing, there are a few ways you can make it even better.

Let’s have a closer look at the best iPhone camera accessories for photographers this year.

Table of Contents

27 Best iPhone Camera Accessories in 2023

1. Get amazing product images on your iPhone with the Light Cone

One of the best iPhone camera accessories to use with smartphone photography, the Light Cone is made from polypropylene and comes in 3 sizes, including one specifically made for iPhones.

It’s simple and quick to use, then stores flat for easy transportation – you can even slip it in your back pocket.

To use it, you snap it together into a cone shape, then place the product under it. Next, you shine whatever light you have on hand at the cone to create a perfectly diffused 360-degree light source with no distracting reflections or hot spots.

Finally, you align your phone’s camera lens with the gap in the top and take your photo.

The iPhone Light Cone provides 360-degree diffusion for any light you shine into it. This can make a huge difference to any e-commerce retailer looking to create stunning product photos like they’ve seen in catalogs for years.

The Light Cone works with a variety of light sources – you can see in the video that even a standard desk light will work well.

It’s definitely the most affordable and simple way we’ve found to get professional product shots for your website, eBay listing or product photography business.

2. Never run out of charge with the Omnicharge Power Bank

This portable power bank from Omnicharge is the rechargeable battery you need to power your iPhone as well as any other powered accessories you might have. It’s one of the more powerful portable chargers on the market in 2023.

Charging this accessory only takes about 2 and a half hours. You can even keep an extra battery pack on-hand to switch out when one dies.

The battery life has an 80% efficiency rating, and it’s made from high-quality components such as soft-touch rubber, which feel great in hand.

The power bank’s OLED display includes all the information you need, along with how much battery life is left. You can also take advantage of the pass-through charging from this compact power bank.

Omnicharge fitted this power bank with a modern USB-C input and output as well as three USB-A outputs. You can also use the AC outlet as well.

Make sure your iPhone camera always has enough charge with the Omnicharge.

3. Get smoother video footage with the DJI OM5 gimbal stabilizer

Gimbals are a great way to stabilize most smartphones. Plus, the best gimbals use tripod legs to provide even more support during photographs and filming.

This particular gimbal is portable and folds down to easily store for later use. You can also use it as a selfie stick if you’d like.

As one of the best iPhone accessories for amateur photographers, the DJI OM5 tracks you as you move about your life. You can also use it to stream videos on social media as well.

While there’s no wrist strap built into this gimbal, you can use the integrated buttons to easily start, stop, and pause recording.

While we’re talking about Apple products in this review, you can use this gimbal with most smartphones from Android as well.

4. Edit photos on the go with Lightroom

If you want to transform your images from ordinary to extraordinary, you’re going to need a photo editor. While there are many to choose from, Adobe Lightroom CC is one of the best mobile apps for iPhone editing out there.

The free version has most of what any photographer needs: exposure, white balance, etc. The subscription version offers evens more – check out the Lightroom CC Mobile guide. If you already have an Adobe subscription, Lightroom CC is already included – if not, get one here.

With the subscription version, you get cloud syncing across devices, Raw support, batch editing, web sharing, automatic backups, and manual mode via the Lightroom camera app.

The UI is totally mobile-friendly, works smoothly even on older iPhones, and is easy to learn. Everything’s stored in the cloud and that makes your images accessible from any device.

At this point, Lightroom CC is nearly as powerful as Lightroom Classic, which is really saying something. It even has advanced features like perspective control, AI keywording, automatic tagging, face recognition, selective adjustments, healing brushes, and gradients.

All in all, it’s a photography app that’s well worth a look for newbies and a must for serious smartphone photographers.

5. Keep your iPhone charged magnetically with the Apple MagSafe Battery Pack

If you need to charge your Apple phone on the go, this battery pack is the accessory you need to ensure you’re always at full charge. After all, how else are you going to get those action shots on your smartphone?

Though this Apple MagSafe Battery Pack is sold separately from your actual iPhone, it’s one of the best accessories you can invest in. The excellent value you’ll get from this battery pack can boost your iPhone’s power to catch more of life with that shutter button.

The Apple MagSafe Battery Pack attaches to your iPhone via specially placed magnets. These magnets keep the charger aligned, so your phone has the boost it needs to continue on.

The best part is that you don’t have to turn this battery pack on and off. Instead, it charges by itself.

6. Print iPhone photos on the go with the Kodak Step Wireless Mobile Photo Printer

The prospect of printing photos directly from your phone can be life-changing for some folks. With the Kodak Step Wireless Mobile Photo Printer, your photos are closer in reach than you might think.

In total, this photo printer weighs less than a pound. It can also easily be stored within a small carrying case, as it’s about the size of your phone.

Kodak’s Mobile Photo Printer works with the photo editing features of your phone, such as intensity settings, low light features, and more.

You don’t need a computer to work the app and print your favorite photos within just a few minutes.

You might be thinking that you need to purchase ink for this printer, but you’d be wrong. Instead, all you have to do is print on the dye crystals to create photos you’ll want to display and share.

7. Expand your shooting options with the Selvim Phone Camera Lens Kit

Over the past few years, it’s been easier than ever to use your smartphone as a camera lens. However, you may still want to invest in a quality set of lenses in order to take advantage of the technology this field has to offer.

Whether you’re shooting in low light or just want to take advantage of a fish eye lens, this set from Selvim has you covered. You can switch between the 4 lenses to find the best one that fits your phone and the occasion.

These lenses mount to your phone right where the camera sits. The included clip keeps the lenses securely fastened, even in your wildest shots.

The included tripod also helps to keep your photos steady and sharp. Plus, these products come with lens-compatible cases to ensure your lenses are never scratched or broken.

8. Take photos from afar with the CamKixBluetooth Shutter Remote

You can set up a timer delay on your smartphone if you need to get into position for photos before you take them. Or, you can invest in this handy Bluetooth remote that allows you to hit the shutter button on both Android and iOS devices.

The CamKixBluetooth Shutter Remote is attached to an adjustable wrist strap that allows you to keep the remote close as you move about. You can also turn the remote on and off, so you don’t accidentally take a bunch of random pictures.

The wrist strap itself is made from corded material that makes it easy to know when you’ve got the remote on you. Plus, it comes in a transparent carrying case that packs easily in any travel bag.

Rather than having to use a selfie stick that takes up part of your picture, you can use this remote to catch the best shot without having to be behind the camera. Anytime your phone is pointed in the right direction, and you want to get a shot, just click the button on the remote.

9. Never lose your iPhone with the Tile Pro Locator

Speaking of Bluetooth, it’s easy to track your smartphone with the Tile Pro Locator. This device can come in super handy if you ever lose your smartphone, wallet, keys, or any other item of value.

Let’s say you spent hours on the beach having fun with friends as you took pictures, played in the water, and made new memories. Now you’ve forgotten where you’ve put your phone, so you’re missing out on all of those Kodak moments.

With Tile Pro Locator, finding your smartphone is easy. You can ring the Tile Pro Locator so that it will audibly locate your phone for you.

The best part is that this Bluetooth device is water-resistant and includes a 400-foot range. Plus, you can easily find your lost device if another Tile user finds it and scans the QR code on the back.

10. View all your best iPhone photos & videos on a big screen with the Vamvo Mini Projector

Remember those days in school when the projector would come out, and you knew that you’d be watching a movie? The same can be said for the Vamvo Mini Projector.

Don’t underestimate this small projector. It’s capable of up to 1080p video and is compatible with a wide range of devices you can use to cast your favorite moments outward. Plus, it’s affordable and compact, making it a no-brainer for summer camping trips and vacations.

This mini projector connects to your phone to project videos up to 13 feet. You’ll only need a USB-C to HDMI adapter cable to make the connection.

You can also run this mini projector off a battery pack if you’d like. This can be useful for those times when you can’t get to power but want to enjoy pictures from the day behind you.

11. Charge wirelessly with the Apple MagSafe Wireless Charger

Charging your iPhone doesn’t have to be a monumental task. In fact, makes the MagSafe Wireless Charger easy to use with a simple snap.

This particular charger is compatible with the iPhone 12, 13 and 14 base models, as well as the Pro versions. You can also wirelessly charge iPhone 8 models or later.

Though it does include magnets in it, this charger is safe for your phone. It’s also rated for use with your AirPods, so you don’t have to carry around a bunch of chargers at once.

This particular iPhone charger doesn’t necessarily improve your photography game, but it can help you in other ways.

For example, if you’ve got a short amount of time to get ready for an interview, you use your forward-facing camera while the phone is charging to make those last-minute touches.

You can also use this charger to get a few extra hours of juice from your iPhone. That means more videos, more photos, and a whole lot more to do.

12. Produce dramatic cinema-like footage with the Moment Anamorphic Lens

Moment lenses are a staple for photographers who want to up their game when it comes to quality photographs. This particular Anamorphic lens can mean the difference between an inspiring shot and one that takes your breath away.

The Moment Anamorphic Lens with Blue Flare brings that early 1960’s cinematic look to your phone. Inspired by JJ Abrams films, this lens gives you that brighter, sci-fi-looking flare when shooting into headlights, street lights, or directional lights

It clips directly onto your iPhone, covering the camera lens to capture life in cinematic quality. Moment lenses have been featured in GeekWire, The Verge, and Gear Patrol.

Moment began on Kickstarter in 2013 and has continued to push the envelope when it comes to capturing life around us. If you want to step up your smartphone photography or film-making game, this is a great start.

13. Set up a tripod quicker than ever with the SwitchPod Camera Stand

If you’re looking for a tripod to pair with your regular camera or iPhone, look no further than the SwitchPod Camera Stand. This innovative tripod is lightweight and features a dynamic design that puts it at the cutting edge.

Though it’s meant to be used as a tripod, you can also fold up the legs of this tripod to form a handle. Put an iPhone on the provided mount, screw it to the top of the SwitchPod and away you go,

Despite the metallic finish on this tripod, it’s durable enough to go just about anywhere. Plus, you can easily wash it if you ever get into a mess while filming.

The one downside to this tripod is that you don’t have a wrist strap to hold onto. However, you can add a wrist strap if you need to by looping one through the legs when they’re folded together.

As one of the pricier iPhone camera accessories, remember that the SwitchPod works equally as well to support and carry your heavier DSLR or mirrorless camera too.

14. Shoot macro and wide angle with the Xenvo Pro Lens Kit

Installing different lenses on your smartphone is as easy as clipping it on with Xenvo. This company makes compact lenses that mount directly to your phone for a better photographic result every time.

Don’t be fooled by the chip-clip design – there’s also an included LED light clip that features an integrated charging port to keep your photographs going for hours at a time.

The firm grip of the Xenvo Pro lens is softened by a rubber pad meant to protect your iPhone. Plus, you can also mount it on a quick-release lanyard if you’re walking around in the field.

Affordably priced and intuitive to use, the Xenvo Pro Kit comes with everything you need to experiment with aftermarket iPhone lenses. And if you don’t use it on your iPhone, you can easily put it on your other devices as well.

15. Mount your iPhone anywhere with Mobile by Peak Design

Mobile by Peak Design offers customers some of the coolest mounting options out there. If you have an iPhone and want the versatility of a phone case that mounts to practically anything, then check these guys out.

The phone case itself consists of a protective layer that keeps your investment safe. However, there’s also a square magnetic ‘hole’ at the back of the case that makes the whole ecosystem function.

Every mount within the Mobile by Peak Design lineup includes a square mounting surface that’s slightly raised up. This square surface mates the phone case to lock your phone into place.

Each mount within the ecosystem allows you to take your phone to new places. For example, you can use the mount to keep your phone at your fingertips in the car while cycling or while you’re working out.

Our favorite iPhone accessory in the ecosystem is the mobile tripod, which folds down completely flat like a credit card when not in use.

16. Light up your scene with the IVISII G2 Pocket RGB Camera Light

It doesn’t take long before you realize that light makes a huge difference when you’re taking photos or shooting videos with an iPhone.

This pocket camera light from IVISII is an affordable way to light up your shot so you can achieve the right light.

In addition to the basic lighting features, you can also make the light flash in various patterns. This includes patterns for police cars, ambulances, and fire trucks.

The IVISII G2 Pocket RGB Camera Light can be fully charged within 3 hours and lasts for up to 3 hours at a time. You can also reference the built-in LCD screen to adjust your light readings.

There are many ways you can mount the IVISII G2 Pocket RGB Camera Light. Place it on a tripod above your scene or mount it to your camera or iphone directly to get the best lighting possible.

17. Attach your iPhone anywhere with the Joby GorillaPod GripTight One

Some of the best tripods are those that you can not only take everywhere but put in several dirty situations without worrying about messing them up. The Joby GorillaPod GripTight One is one of these tripods.

In fact, if you attached an Auxiwa Clip-on Selfie Ring to your phone, you’d have all you need to start filming. All that would be left to do is find something to film.

This mini tripod is different from others in the fact that you can bend the legs and curl them around to conform to practically any surface. And when you’re done, those legs fold up to be straight and true.

You can mount your phone sideways or upright on this tripod, which clamps the phone with a top and bottom grip. The base swivels, but you shouldn’t need much movement with the adaptable legs beneath it.

18. Improve your camera skills with the iPhone Photography Academy

The best smartphones in the world won’t automatically make your photos amazing. For that, you’ll need a bit of know-how – both on the principles of photography and how to get the most out of your phone.

Out of all the courses out there (and there are plenty), the iPhone Photo Academy gives the most bang for the buck in 2023. It covers everything a beginner needs to know, while being chock full of tips for longstanding pros as well.

Perhaps the best thing about the online course is that it doesn’t just cover the best ways to shoot with an iPhone. It also shows you how to see the world through the eyes of an experienced photographer, which is one of the keys to getting amazing images.

Beyond the 10+ hours of high-quality video tuition, the Photo Academy also comes with a very active Facebook community. The group has over 33,350 members and an average of 150 posts per day. It’s clear that there are many happy students.

The standard price is a bit steep, but you can usually find it at a steep 80% discount (see if it’s still available here), and at that price, the course is a steal.

In my opinion, though, the price is worth it for the Facebook Community and support alone –it really is that good. It also comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee.

If you’ve never taken a photography course before or are looking to get the most out of your phone’s camera, the iPhone Photo Academy is definitely worth checking out.

Even pros will learn a few things they didn’t know before, and if you need even more – check out iPhone Landscape Mastery, reviewed here.

19. Shoot underwater photos with the SeaLife Underwater Scuba Diving Case

You might take your phone a lot of places, but what if you could take pictures and video underwater? That’s what the SeaLife Underwater Scuba Diving Case allows you to do.

This waterproof includes many features that make it easy to use your iPhone underwater. For example, the large shutter lever helps even gloved hands work the camera.

One of the most critical waterproofing features of this scuba diving case is the o-ring that travels the distance of the waterproof door. This o-ring is the only thing that stands between your phone and the water.

While it’s true that some iPhones are made to be waterproof, they typically don’t last long underwater. This is in part due to the pressure beneath the water that can damage critical internal components.

20. Add lights and microphones to your iPhone with the Smallrig Video Rig

Shooting video with your phone is easy with the Smallrig Video Rig. This bundle provides everything you need to get started.

Included with this rig are a side handle, tripod, LED light, microphone, furry windscreen, shock mount, and universal smartphone cage.

You’ll also get a power bank holder, a camera 3.5mm audio cable, a smartphone 3.5mm audio cable, a cold shoe, and a windproof sponge foam.

The only thing missing from your rig could be something like the Auxiwa Clip-On Selfie Ring with LED lights. This device provides the light you need to produce professional shots.

Though it’s no small investment, this rig can make a difference when it comes to amateur photographers and videographers, and professionals who need to add a bit more oomph to the standard iPhone camera.

21. Keep your display clean with the YTT Mist Cleaner

Dealing with a dirty screen can make life miserable. The YTT Mist Cleaner simplifies the process by including all the tools you need in one compact device.

Simply spray the mist cleaner onto your phone screen. Use the device itself as a cleaning wipe to remove any fingerprints, dust, debris, or whatever else might be on your phone screen.

The YTT Mist Cleaner is small enough to fit in your pocket or purse. You can easily carry it in the car too.

This Mist Cleaner is available in blue, pink, or grey, so you can customize it to your personal style. Plus, it’s only lightly fragranced, so you won’t have to worry about any stinky cleaning fumes.

Although it may not seem like one of the best iPhone camera accessories, f you’re taking pictures, using the YTT Mist Cleaner can help you focus on details to get the clearest shot possible.

22. Double your memory with the SanDisk iXpand Flash Drive

Now that you’ve done so much shooting with your phone, you’ll want to keep your photos and videos somewhere. The SanDisk iXpand Flash Drive is a great way to store and transfer videos from one device to another.

This USB flash drive stores up to 128GB of data. It can also be attached to a lanyard or string so you can easily carry it around with you.

The SanDisk iXpand Flash Drive is small enough to fit in your backpack or purse. Simply plug it into the charging port of your smartphone to back up your favorite files.

When you’re not using your SanDisk iXpand Flash Drive, simply fold it closed to protect one side. You can use a thin cap to protect the other end when not in use.

23. Safely charge your device with the Anker Premium Lightning Cable

We’ve all seen plenty of iPhone chargers that are bent and fraying. Avoid having to trash your phone charger and buy a new one by investing in the Anker Premium Lightning Cable.

This particular charging cable is not only stronger than the factory one you received with your smartphone, but it can also charge your phone faster. It also comes with a lifetime warranty.

In fact, this charging cable is said to be able to withstand over 80 pounds of weight. The cord itself is made from premium nylon that’s been double-braided to give you that strength.

Having an extra charging cable around is never a bad thing. This is especially true if you are traveling abroad and need a quick charge so you can create more memorable photos and videos as you explore your surroundings.

The Anker Premium Lightning Cable lasts up to 12 times longer than your average iPhone cable. While that might not seem like much, it does leave you more room for photography equipment rather than charging cables.

24. Transfer all your photos with the Oyuiasle SD Card Reader

Some iPhones are waterproof to a certain extent. That being said, it’s a good idea not to assume that you can easily extract data from your phone after it’s taken a dip.

That’s why the Oyuiasle SD Card Reader is such a great accessory to buy for your phone. You can easily plug this SD card reader into your phone to transfer multimedia to and from your phone.

If there’s one thing you can do to extend the life of your smartphone, it’s to invest in an SD card reader. This helps you to easily move videos and photos off of your smartphone so that if you do end up in a wet situation, all your photos and videos are not inaccessible.

There’s no internet or computer required to use the Oyuiasle SD Card Reader. Instead, simply insert the card into the appropriate slot and transfer files as you please.

In addition, you can also use the Oyuiasle SD Card Reader as an extension of your charger. Plug the charge cable into the Oyuiasle SD Card Reader and then plug that into your smartphone as you transfer files.

25. Get a photo of your best angle with the Yoozon Selfie Stick

If you’re in the market for a quality selfie stick, look no further than the Yoozon Selfie Stick. This device is ready to go for any adventure, no matter where it takes you.

The Yoozon Selfie Stick can be used in both horizontal and vertical modes, giving you the versatility you need to capture life as it happens. Plus, you can add an Auxiwa Clip-on Selfie Ring to glamorize your best shots.

You can also use the Yoozon Selfie Stick as a phone holder for video calls. The mount won’t affect your lenses and can also act as a tripod as well.

This selfie stick also includes a remote you can pair with your phone. The tripod base also features enough stability to support a microphone and any LED lighting you might need.

26. Make shooting with your iPhone more comfortable with the Kiwifotos Camera Grip

Are you part of the generation that knew what it was like to hold a camera and get that candid shot? Then you know the benefits of having a steady rest on the side of your camera.

That’s why the Kiwifotos camera grip is so useful. This grip allows you to wrap your fingers around something solid so you don’t have to grasp your smartphone between the tips of your fingers while taking a picture.

The Kiwifotos Camera Grip can also be mounted on a tripod to help adapt your phone to a more versatile platform. The tripod itself is lightweight and compact, similar to the camera grip.

In fact, you can even use this camera grip as a tripod of its own in a way. Simply set it on a flat surface to keep the phone stable and upright as you film or capture photos.

Like the selfie stick, this Kiwifotos camera grip only requires a one-handed grip. Plus, there are no apps to download for it or other hardware to invest in.

27. Snap on a magnetic filter for more creative shots with Pan’s

snap

One of the downsides to some multi-filter systems for the iPhone is having to use a proprietary case – not so with the Pan’s Snap Filter.

As the world’s first Magsafe filter system, the Pan’s allows you to utilise your iPhone’s existing magnetic Magsafe system to attach multiple filters for more creative shots.

All you need to do is ‘snap’ the Snap Filter Base to your phone via Magsafe, then choose from a selection of filters (including ND, Streak, Mist and Cross Star) to clamp to the Base.

The filters themselves produce zero ghosting, meaning that you get the same image or video quality as you would shooting without a filter.

Available for iPhone 12/12 Pro/12 Pro Max, iPhone 13/13 Pro/13 Pro Max, iPhone 14/14 Pro/14 Plus/14 Pro Max.

How Can I Make my iPhone Camera Better?

There are many ways you can make your iPhone camera better. Most of these ways include changing the settings on your camera to record shots that you can use for all kinds of applications.

  1. Easily improve your pictures by tapping the screen right before you take your picture. This will help focus the camera lens and provide a sharper, cleaner image.
  2. Go to your camera settings and choose “Grid.” Toggle this feature on to see a grid pattern overlayed across your camera screen, which you can use to frame pictures before you take them.
  3. You can adjust the exposure of your picture by tapping on the screen. Once the sun icon appears, slide it along the bar to create more or less exposure.
  4. If you are shooting in portrait mode, you can easily blur the background for a cleaner look. This can also help you to create professional portraits that look much better than those taken with a selfie stick.
  5. When taking photos in the dark, use night mode to help illuminate the scene. Toggle the wide and telephoto lenses and ensure the half-moon night mode setting is applied.
  6. If you need to set your iPhone up before you take your picture, check out the timer feature. You can choose between 3 and 10 seconds and the camera will shoot 10 pictures in a single burst.
  7. You can access burst mode without using the timer. Simply hold the shutter button down and slide it to the left of the screen. The number that appears will be the number of shots the iPhone camera will take.
  8. Portrait lighting is another popular setting you can use to choose the best lighting for your subject. Scroll through the options until a hexagon appears in the top left-hand corner.
  9. Hate cropping photos after you take them? Choose the custom crop feature to frame your photo within the cropped area before you take it.
  10. Zoom in to get the most detail by choosing the wide, ultra-wide, or telephoto lens. The 0.5 mark on your camera denotes the ultra-wide angle, the 1 translates to the wide angle, and the 2 is the telephoto lens.
  11. Taking live photos can be an awesome way to capture movement. Make sure the target in the upper right-hand corner is selected before taking the image, which lasts for 3 seconds and can be looped, bounced, and exposed for a long time.

Did you know that on most iPhones, you can also use your volume-up button as a shutter? This can come in handy for hands-free photos or cases where you don’t have your tripod with you.

How many camera lenses does the iPhone have?

The first iPhone camera included a wide-angle lens. This helped the camera to capture a wider field of view, even though it remains primitive to what we have at our fingertips today.

While all iPhone models have a wide lens, only the latest iPhone models have an ultra-wide and/or telephoto lens. These include iPhone 11 models, all the way up to the latest generation.

This means that every iPhone since a few years back includes three lenses: a wide angle, an ultra-wide angle, and a telephoto lens. These phones now are more capable of taking better pictures than amateur photographers back in the day.

Final Words on iPhone Accessories

While sales of DSLR cameras in 2023 are dwindling, it’s perhaps no surprise that the majority of photos shot around the world are taken with the iPhone.

With each new release, the camera seems to be the one area that Apple engineers concentrate on improving – more megapixels, better low light performance, different focal lengths – the latest models even offer features that the most expensive professional cameras do not.

Whether you own the latest smartphone model or a previous generation, choosing the right camera accessories for your smartphone is paramount to getting the best quality images out of it.
