Aeezo Wi-Fi Digital Frame Review
If you're looking for an affordable and fun way to display your favourite photos at home, this Aeezo Wi-Fi digital frame may be just for you.
I remember a good long while ago when digital photo frames first popped up on the market. Being a photographer, they sounded like a wonderful idea!
What a way to showcase and update my selection of photos within my home without having to go out and re-print them over and over again.
But I always felt like there was something missing. Aeezo must have also noticed this gap, and have popped up and given them the much needed additional features.
They’ve come along and added much cleaner and sharper screens, smoother internal software, Wi-Fi compatibility, and a clean lightweight app to match!

Build & Appearance
Placed atop a shelf or on the wall, the Aeezo frames look sharp and modern. But pick it up in your hand and you can see where the weight saving comes from.
There are no gimmicks built in to these devices, they are a sharp and clear display device built in to a stylish lightweight package!
Essentially the Aeezo Digital Frames are lightweight tablets housed inside of a plastic frame to keep both the cost of them effective, but unfortunately without batteries.
Therefore continuous power is required, a problem that could limit where you place your digital frame.
The display is sharp, clear, bright (adjustable), and responsive. The software is both quick and efficient to use, and the settings allow you to modify almost everything.
Limitations on video files are set to a brief 15 second length (like a Live Photo), but it’s certainly nice having them as a great point of difference over the usual static images. Especially if it’s an action shot of your pet or your child on display!
The Aeezo Digital Frames have an in-built speaker which will chime when you receive notifications or when videos play. But if you want to not be surprised by unexpected shrieks or sounds from videos coming mysteriously from another room, I recommend turning that off!
Internal Software & App
The software that the Aeezo Digital Frames use is called the 9inch frame adaption Frameo APP. This is also the free app that you’ll download to your mobile device (GooglePlay or Apple App Store) to access your digital frame remotely. It is quick, simple, and intuitive to use.
Simply download the app to your phone, boot up the frame, run through the quick set up menu (Wi-Fi required), and add yourself as a friend by using the unique temporary access number provided.
By providing a time-sensitive auto-generated unique number to any number of selected friends and family, you can grant them the ability to add photos to your digital frame (via the free mobile app).
Adding photos through the app is as simple as selecting one or multiple (up to 10) from your albums, applying an optional caption to each (or all the same), and then selecting the ‘Focus area’, and hitting upload.
Depending on your connection (both phone and digital frame), your photos should appear within seconds!
If you make a mistake or you want to change anything, you can still modify each image further once it has been loaded onto the device. Changes to captions, size, position, scale, rotation and reordering can all be done easily on the Digital Frame itself and at any time.
The Aeezo Digital Frames only require Wi-Fi access for the initial set-up and for any time you wish to connect via the App.
So if you’d prefer to leave it disconnected, you can still continue to use a USB stick or an SD Card as a way of loading images (in which you can also upload large quantities in one go).
You’ll find that the Aeezo Digital Frames auto-detect orientation and will scale and shift your photos based on that.
This is an automatic process, if it isn’t perfect you can adjust each individual image to your liking and it will remember your settings for both orientations.
The same goes for images of differing aspect ratios, you can opt to crop them to fill the frame or scale them down to view the full image. You can have it scaled to fit automatically or to a manual level in which you decide.
Again, it remembers the settings for each individual image.
Interface
As I showed you the app earlier, I figured I’d quickly show you the menu system on the Aeezo Digital Frames. This is as of version 1.9.15 and could change in the future.
- Add Friend:
- This provides you with your unique access number that you can share with friends and family to add photos to your frame.
- Settings:
- Takes you to the full device settings menu where you can manage your profile, back up content, modify photos, slideshow settings, friends access, etc.
- React:
- Similarly to social media you can ‘react’ to photos. This notifies the person who added the image of your feelings about the photo or video.
- Hide photo:
- Take care of those cheeky uploads, or if you now tire of seeing a particular image.
- Gallery:
- This takes you to the full gallery on your device where you can remove or modify any selected photos and videos.
- Fit to frame:
- If the displayed image is of a different aspect ratio to the Digital Frame, it will be cropped to fit. Tapping this setting will scale the image down to display in its entirety. This setting is remembered, tapping it again will reset the image.
- Adjust photo:
- This option allows you to reposition, rotate, or scale the displayed image in your preferred manner. This setting is remembered.
- Power:
- Toggle power, reset or sleep.
Alternatives
Aeezo currently have three models on offer – I have been reviewing their 9 Inch Digital Frame.
If you’d prefer a larger display, take a look at the Skyline Black series which features a wood grain frame and a black-edged display
If you’re after a higher pixel density display, look in to the Dream Plus model. This features a rich 10″ 2K digital display and has the same screen ratio as most modern phones (16:9 / 2048×1536) but drops USB access and wall-mounting.
All 3 models feature the same software, and none of them require any paid subscriptions either. The device itself is the only cost to you!
Aeezo Wi-Fi Digital Frame Review | Conclusion
I have found the Aeezo 9 Inch Wi-Fi Digital Frame to be a wonderful and valuable addition to my home, displaying clean and sharp photos of my photography as well as our family on rotation.
The simplicity of use is great, and I gave the code to my parents so they can add to the rotation. It’s always nice noticing a new addition, as well as being able to appreciate my own work.
But as the image says, “Let Tommy know what you think”. So if you have any further questions, feedback, or you’d like to know anything specific about the Aeezo Digital Frame, just comment below and I’ll get back to you!
