Oleksandr Rupeta
Hi, I’m Oleksandr Rupeta, a documentary photographer from Ukraine working worldwide. I started as a photojournalist, but recently I have focused on long-term projects combining documentary and art photography.
I am mostly interested in social anthropology and social conflict topics, with an emphasis on personality. I continue to work with magazines, news agencies, and NGOs in Ukraine and abroad, and I’m open to proposals for cooperation.
I use the Nikon system for digital and Bronica for medium film format. Over time, I decided to use prime instead of zoom lenses. Most often I use Nikon 35mm f/1.4 and Nikon 50mm f/1.4 focal length, as the most universal for me. Sometimes, for special occasions, I also use Nikon 17-35mm f/2.8 and Nikon 105mm f/1.4 lenses.
Cameras & Lenses
Nikon D850, Nikon D610, and Zenza Bronica S2.
Nikon 35mm f/1.4, Nikon 50mm f/1.4, Nikon 17-35mm f/2.8 and Nikon 105mm f/1.4.
80mm f/2.4 Zenzanon + Vivitar 43 Light Meter for Bronica.
Hardware & Software
MacBook Pro 13 + 1 TB Silicon Power Drive. Mostly Adobe Camera Raw for editing.
Final Words
I believe that the choice of the camera system, as well as the choice of hardware and software from all the market leaders, is about the same. It is much more important to imagine the result that you want to achieve using the equipment.
