Hi Vince. I hope that you are well and safe. If you are looking for a zoom that has that 16 or 18mm wide end, then the 16-80 would be ideal. This is on my wish list so I cannot tell you how it performs. However most people seem to appreciate it and let’s be honest, Fuji has not put out a ‘bad’ lens for a long time. For travel, I would probably stick with the 18-55 and if you can pick up the 55-200. They are not heavy like the 50-140 and are both optically brilliant. Or, if you are happy to zoom a little with your feet and carry a super-light kit, then just stick with the 18-55mm and make it work for you. When I travel I generally only carry a 23mm and zoom with my feet. I know it is not the same as having a telephoto zoom but it makes me work for the shot. This is why I bought this lens a few months ago. However, I also found IQ lacking compared to even the 18-55 2.8-4.

What’s your guidance on a suitable travel lens with better IQ?

I am currently looking at the 16-80 F4 which would give up range but let in more light at the long end.

The reviews are conflicting, however, when it comes to baseline IQ.
