I am a Nikon shooter and have been for many years, and am using their D850 + D500.

I am retired but spend the summer at children’s camps as a camp photographer, where I may be shooting from 600 to 1,000 pics/day, reviewing them, editing, and then po\sting many to the camp’s website so parents can see what their child(run) and others have been doing each day. I just love doing this for past 7 summers.

I have 2 lens with my crop sensor camera & 8 for the FF, the D850, and have been looking at what Sony offers for lenses and find that the 70-200 f2.8 lens that I am using daily at camp is really getting heavy for me and I see that Nikon does not offer a Z 70-200 f4 if I was to get their Z9, where I feel that I would get 3 lenses to start with a new Sony,

24-105 f4

& 70-200 f4

During the balance of the year, I shoot a little of everything, from birds in Florida, to landscapes in Toronto (where I live) and even a wedding or Bday party when I am hired to do an event.

So, tell me, I am also looking at the Sony a7R IV

a Canon R5

or, as mentioned previously, a Nikon Z9.

Thank you Marc for your review of the Sony A7IV vs. A7III. I’m crossing over from the Nikon 5200 crop sensor to a full frame and while I do not want to spend “several” thousand on a camera body (only because I am not a professional photographer, just an enthusiast!), your review was very insightful and helped me narrow down my choices. Now on to an even bigger dilemma…which lens I need for travel!
