The former has been my airline carry-on camera bag and has been the equivalent of about 5 times around the world, loaded to airline weight limits (+), and accommodating a Canon DSLR (now replaced by mirrorless body) and lenses, except my now-traded in 500mm Mk II, and my 14″ notebook. After about 5 years I noticed some stitches pulling on the top of a back strap of the 22L bag, sent an image to Gura Gear, and 10 days later a new bag turned up unannounced on my doorstep. They sure stood by the quality of their gear.
I use the 30L bag to pack all my camera gear – 2 DSLRs (now mirrorless bodies, macro, 3 short primes, 100-400/500 & extenders, and attendant accessories (except the erstwhile 500mm Mk II) when I’m driving and home.
I don’t hike extended distances (I couldn’t with a loaded 30L bag), but the 22L bag works well in airports and otherwise for short hikes (I’m 77 yo) w tripod attached.
Overall, for my purposes, you can’t beat these bags for utility, protection, flexibility and quality. It looks like V2 bags are just as good.
