I recently picked up a used D750 for an excellent price, and in “like new” condition (154 shutter count). I already have the Nikon 1.8 50mm as a walk around lens, but was gravitating towards a 35mm and trying to decide which one. I used to have the DX version of this 35mm lens early this year with a D5600 that I bought for a class, but I started trading up to FX gear as soon as I was done with the class, so I didn’t get to spend a lot of time shooting with the DX version. Looking forward to picking one of these up asap. It was very helpful knowing that you are shooting with the same body that I now have, and that you are very satisfied with the performance of this more affordable FX 35mm, as it is a more suitable price point for a hobbyist at my current skill level. And it will be nice to have a more than serviceable backup if I ever feel the need to upgrade to the 1.4 version. Thank you sir.

Two, admittedly, unsolicited thoughts:
1. The use of the word “whilst” is distracting. Stop it.
2. Good grief! Please study outdoor portraiture.

Peace out.

Thanks! Nope, not really. Just a sight vignette – lots of these photos are shot wide open and I haven’t corrected for any vignette.

Gorgeous photos!
I have read reviews about the 1.8 g displaying heavy vignetting wide open. Have you found that at all?

I’m looking for a new lens and this seems great. I’m looking for something to use predominantly for portraits. Will this fit/work on my Nikon D3200? I look forward to your response! Thanks!

Ps. I’m still learning :)

Because the background with sharper contours and cooler colors looks great.
