I have moved through all of the iterations from the X100 to the X100V and totally agree about the autofocus. I was involved in the launch of the X100F but the X100V is very much my everyday camera. I don’t use it for video though… totally love the film simulation options.

Thanks Mark. I use a pretty decent SD card but still does it in my x100. I’m
Looking to upgrade so thanks for the information.

The X100V doesn’t do this, Oliver – maybe try a faster SD card so you can isolate the problem.

I have an original X100. Not sure if everyone’s does this , but every shot locks up the camera whilst it’s saving to card. This could be a burst of shots or one single frame. It’s so annoying. Does the 100v do this. I’d like to think not.
Cheers
Oli

Thanks Marcel – I think I tried that but will have another go. I’ve been using the memory card dongle to transfer directly to my phone.

About transferring the images to iPad/iPhone: I use only wifi, no bluetooth. It’s quicker and always works.
Turn on the camera. Choose transferring (bluetooth off).
Choose a new network (but instead of a normal network, choose the cameras network) on iPhone/iPad.
Start up the app and select import images.

I own the x100v since the release. This is an amazing camera. In the new update, it became possible to use the ND filter during video recording, it may be worth updating the Cons.

I’ve had both cameras and much prefer the Fuji.

The wider lens on the Ricoh is perhaps better suited to landscapes and the lens is very sharp. However, my example acquired sensor dust very quickly, so the weather sealing on the X100v is a huge bonus. Plus, with the wide and tele conversion lenses and more manual controls, I find the Fuji to be the much more flexible option – so I guess you’d generally use the wide or standard lens for landscapes, the wide lens for architecture, and the standard/tele lens for portraits.

I now use mine as my sole camera, and miss very few shots as a result.

I’d go with the Fuji X100V – the GRIII’s main advantage is its size/weight – it’s truly pocketable. However, for everything else, the Fuji is better. Hope that helps!

I can’t afford, and probably don’t need both. I shoot landscapes, candid’s, people, architecture. I am not as interested in bokeh as much as most shooters. Help me decide! I am torn.

You and this review are responsible for me, like you selling my X100F that I was perfectly happy with! Fortunately with Fujifilms refurbished online shop I am not taking such a big hit, as I can get a nearly new 100V for £300 less than the shop price

Thanks Vanessa. I enjoy the simplicity or just one lens, not to mention the more compact form factor. Unless you really need to be changing focal length with multiple lenses, I recommend the X100V!

I am hoping to upgrade my XT20, I love it but feel that I’m missing out on something, perhaps better image quality and weather sealing. I am debating between the X100V and the XT3. I’m guessing the biggest difference between them is the use of interchangable lenses on the T3. In your opinion, does one camera outshine the other? If so, why? I just want to have fun, be creative, and produce images that I love.
