Wow! How much weight did you end up transferring to your vest? Did you transfer it back to your carryon once you boarded? I can’t help but think it would be uncomfortable doing a long flight fully loaded like that…

Comfortable (for a tactical vest) and takes wear and abuse very well. Not only is it useful for a lot of photo excursions where you don’t want to put a bag down (like: a boat or dugout canoe, or a dusty vehicle on safari) but it’s incredibly helpful for travel. My first photo trip to Africa, they concluded my bag was overweight. I ultimately ended up taking my vest out, wearing it, stuffing it full of stuff and that lightened my luggage sufficiently to fix that problem. I had to do the same tactic for a flight from South Africa to Botswanna.
