Many or most will be family businesses. You will get personal service, and they won’t hold onto your photos for many weeks, or even months. After reading comments on the Facebook ads of the “big guys,” I’d be scared to death to send my photos to them. Just search “photo scanning service near me” and that’s where I’d go.

Thank you informative and useful for choosing a supplier. I note you did not make a recommendation and wondered if you have had personal experience with any of the companies. I have some treasured archival photos and if you have any recommendations I would appreciate hearing them. I was also wondering are all the companies US based or elsewhere Australia? Being from Canada makes a difference with exchange and shipping. Thanks again
