Glad to hear that, Cynthia. Do you have a capable smartphone? If you have a low budget, many of the latest smartphones (which you may already own) can take better photos than cameras under $500.

The supporting software will no longer transfer to my new laptop so I’ve been doing some awkward work-arounds to save photos but can no longer edit them. What do you suggest as a new camera? Price is not really a factor but don’t use it that often to justify a $1,000+ (or even $500+) sale price. Your site is the most informative one I’ve found – thank you for all the tips and knowledge you have shared.

After reading the article, I realized that I had a difficult decision to make. I don’t want to pay big money, but I want to get beautiful and professional photos. Now I also understand that I need photography accessories. I didn’t even think about it before

See how you go with the 50mm, Linda. On your d3100 the image quality should be superb, but you may find the narrow field of view a little limiting – try something wider next time if that’s the case.

I have been using a Nikon d3100 for years. I have just bought the 50mm from Amazon for it. I have wanted a new Nikon but am torn between the dx and fx formats. So with that said, since I am not aiming to go professional, I still would like to have a decent camera for good shots of where I go.

I have quite literally spent hours researching comparing and trawling the internet for the right camera to buy and finally I stumble across your posting. Now, (whilst I haven’t actually decided which camera to buy yet) I feel far more equipped to do so.

Thank you very much.

Darren

The T5 is a great starter camera, Whitney! It depends on your budget, what you need from a camera, and several other factors. Best to ask in our FB group – make sure to provide a lot of info!

I feel like I’m in way over my head. I currently shoot with a Rebel t5. I’m looking to go full-frame. Would you have any suggestions?

What middle of the price range (I’m no professional) camera and lenses would you recommend for sports photography – mainly basketball? Thanks

Hey Kevin. Any Canon (or other brand) full frame camera would work admirably and you’d just need a wide-angle lens in order to get the most out of your interior photography.

Thanks for the article here. I am planning on purchasing a new camera for interior photography. I’ve been reading up on a lot about full-frame Canon brand cameras, however I was wondering if you could talk me through their best options for this type of photography.

Any additional thoughts on lenses for the body would be great as well. Appreciate it!
