Hi Mark, thanks for the excellent article. I was researching the Vanguard Alta Pro 263 AP myself and came across your list. I have the Mark 4 with a 24-105mm lens. Does this tripod perform well with regards to stability with a heavy setup such as this?

After clicking on your provided link for the MeFoto tripod, I see that they also have a carbon fiber version. Do you have any info on that one? Is carbon fiber usually going to be better than aluminum?

hmm good question, Rushi – I assume it’s majority CF, but best to get in touch with Neewer if it’s bothering you. As long as the tripod is light and strong, I wouldn’t worry too much though.

Hi Mark, is there any way to check if the CF tripod is completely built of of CF or just a layer of CF on some base material? I just bought a Neewer CF tripod but I am not sure if it’s entirely CF. Appreciate your inputs.

At 1.84kg the Manfrotto BeFree is about as travelled as far as the back seat of my car, I bought one for a 80km hike, I sold it two weeks later in favour of Sunwayfoto.
